Nickelodeon wanted to create an interstitial with the look and feel of a hosted talk show to promote upcoming movies and partnerships.
When the network approached us, the name Blimp Break and the idea to use the interior of the Nickelodeon Blimp as a virtual location was already decided upon. However there was no pre-established look for the interior of their blimp. It was used briefly during the Kids Choice Awards but they didn t feel married to that interior. Their ask — create a virtual set to appeal to pre-teens where their host shot could interact with with varying prefilmed footage, interviews and toolkits to promote their IPs.
To highlight the cross promotions, we decided early on that we’d like to create customizable title sequence and set for Blimp Break, leaving our goal to explore several interior options.
Imagine a virtual set that’s as fun as a blimp full of candy and video games. That’s what we created for Nickelodeon’s “Blimp Break.” The set is bright, colorful, and full of energy, just like the show’s target audience. We also created a fun and playful logo that perfectly captures the spirit of the show.
